Welcome to the Clay Studio. Audrey’s Art & Clay Studio opened in the fall of 2017.
This Clay Studio allows us to offer more intensive clay instruction and provide space for individuals to really dive deep into the medium.
Whether you are new to clay and just want to try it out or are experienced and looking for a place to work, I hope we can help!
Classes
Curious about clay, looking for a new hobby, loved it for the brief time in highschool and have always wanted to try it again? Creating in clay is such a great activity! (I admit I’m partial to it myself.)
We offer 5 week Hand-Building Classes that are perfect for beginners or someone looking to strengthen their knowledge of the clay basics. We learn about the process of creating with clay, slab building, coil building, surface decoration, and beginning glazing. Class meets Tuesdays 6-8pm. In addition to class time students are welcome to attend one 2 hour Open Studio time per week to work on projects. Cost for the 5 week sessions are $125. 14+
Kids 5 week Hand-building Classes are also available. Students will learn the process of creating with clay as well as foundation techniques as they create class projects. Class meets Tuesdays 6-8 pm. Cost for these 5 week sessions are $100. Ages 10+
Private Wheel Instruction is also available to those interested in learning to throw on the pottery wheel. Lessons objectives are a collaboration between the instructor and students so that goals and growth are very personalized. Times are available upon request.
Open Studio
Open Studio times allow students who are enrolled in an adult multi-week classs some extra studio time. Though there is no instruction at this time an instructor will be available to answer questions or offer guidance as needed. Prearranged Open Studio times are included in the cost of a multi-week class for the duration of the class to work on class projects at no extra cost.
Open Studio times are also open to individuals who have prior experience with clay, have gone through studio training, have met with the studio director, and wish to persue clay at their own pace.
Clay Events
These are one time events where you get to experience clay in our studio space. You’ll get step-by-step instructions for a one day project. Maybe its a handbuild pumpkin for fall or a one-of-a-kind mug. Your project will stay in the studio to be glazed and fired before going home with you.
