Watercolor Painting with Passion

I absolutely loved this last group of self-chosen paintings the Adult Watercolor group did!

The Adult Watercolor class is run in 6 week sessions.  Typically the first 4 classes are a walk through lesson focusing on different watercolor techniques.

The fifth class students bring in their own picture or combination of pictures to create their own piece.

We talk over the project.  If it’s at a level that can be handled where ever they are in their skill building.  We also go over what parts could be challenging or how to approach the project.

I then help them transfer the image (if needed) so that they can begin.

For two classes they work through their project with whatever guidance they need from me.

Sometimes we practice strokes or techniques on another piece of paper before they apply it to thier project.

I LOVE this last group of paintings!

Each painting had special meaning to the artist and I think that passion shows in their work.

I love to see them taking on these projects and accomplishing them with growing skill!

Take a look at these beautiful watercolor paintings!

This one was from a photograph from a special trip taken with her family.

These two ladies are good friends and ride horses together.  They each used a picture of their horses together as reference for their unique paintings.

This woman brought in a variety of photographs and used elements from a few of them to show her love of winter and spending time outside with her husband.

And this one is a picture of herself with her horses.

I just can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed this group!  It’s like a breath of fresh air to be able to gather with creative people and just forget about all your other worries or responsibilities for a couple hours.

I hope you have an opportunity to spend time doing something you love, like we do with watercolor painting!

Welcome to my adventures in teaching Art outside of the public school system. I’ll share our projects and challenge myself and you to continually improve. So glad you stopped by!
